Next Meeting: Monday 14th February 2017

Dear pottery nerds,
we are happy to invite you to our second meeting, which will take place on Tuesday 17th of January 2017 at 2:00pm in the South Lecture Room (SLR), Division of Archaeology, University of Cambridge.
It is an informal meeting (no preliminary reading required). We will have couple *special guests* to present their works on ceramic analysis. More info about the speakers will be available soon!
The SLR is located on the second floor of the department building and is accessible via the west staircase or the Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology (MAA) lift.

The Second ACSG Meeting (Archaeological ceramic materials beyond academia) was a success. Thank you everybody for joining us and for your contributions. A special thanks goes to Dr Kate Beats, Cambridge Archaeological Unit, who presented her talk ‘Ceramics in Commercial Archaeology’.

The second half of the ACSG Meeting was dedicated to a debate on ‘Standards for Pottery Studies in Archaeology’ – We discussed the at the PDFs available on the new website (Menu – References) produced by PCRG, SGRP, MPRG and CIfA. First ACSG Meeting, 7 Dec 16: Summary

Dear pottery nerds,
It was great to see so many new faces at the first ACS meeting. We are now defining the nature of the group, which seems to have good potential, and we all agree ACS should tend to be a platform for learning and sharing practical skills. It was good to meet representatives from the Division of Archaeology, Faculty of Classics, Cambridge Unit and freelance archaeologists as well. A summary of the first meeting follows:
